The Parks Department and the City of Springfield are looking for a Laborer to join our Turf section of the Parks. This role will play an important part in the beautification of our ballfields in our many parks. This role could expect to drag the ball fields, mow/weed-eating, opening and upkeep of the rentals, daily trash duties, and general ground maintenance of the complexes.
It takes a lot to maintain all 105 Springfield-Greene County Park Board locations, ranging from neighborhood parks, multi-use recreational facilities, natural resource areas, special use facilities and aquatic facilities. Our departmental maintenance staff works daily to contribute to the care and beautification of over 3,200 acres of park property.


The Park Operations division is the primary division within Parks dedicated to the maintenance and upkeep of our neighborhood and regional parks and facilities. You will find Park Operations staff maintaining our ball fields, trails, structures, pavilions, playground equipment, trees, botanical gardens, and more.

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience, Education, and Training
PREFERRED

• Experience in grounds, roads, and/or building construction or maintenance work.

Licensing/Certification

• Must possess a valid driver's license
