General Labor/Packer

Job Title

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Packs products into box with accurate counts. Constantly monitor quality of the product being packed and report any problems to the operator or supervisor. Check the labels on the cartons for accuracy. Stack, tape, label, pack or whatever else may be necessary to assure top efficiency on the production line. Keep the production area clean. Keep accurate counts of all finished product in conjunction with the operator. Make sure the cartons are properly stacked. Keep tape machine in working order and report any mechanical problems to supervisor or maintenance department. Maintain order and cleanliness of the packing box area. Develop a clear understanding of all types of raw materials. Will abide by all AIB standards and HPPI quality and safety regulations.

1. Wear proper hair restraints 2. Wash hands after using the restroom and eating or whenever hands become soiled 3. Report all injures and treat all cuts, scrapes, open sore immediately and appropriately (follow blood born pathogen policy) 4. No jewelry (ear rings, rings with stones, loose necklaces) 5. No cell phones or pagers (unless authorized) 6. No personal items on the production floor 7. No food of any kind except in authorized areas 8. No tobacco products except in authorized areas

Qualifications

Desired Skills & Experience

A high school diploma, general education degree (GED) OR one to three months related experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers an to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
