HR Business Partner

Aya Healthcare is seeking an HR Business Partner for an onsite contract role in Rutland, VT . This position is scheduled for 13 weeks (Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm ) with the potential to extend or transition to permanent employment. The role will support employee and labor relations, workplace investigations, and advisory work for leadership on performance and disciplinary matters. Role Details Job type: Contract Contract duration: 13 weeks, with potential to extend or become permanent Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm Weekend requirement: None Location: Rutland, VT (onsite) Onboarding timeline: Expect 2-3 weeks from offer acceptance to start date Pay: USD 53 - 56 per hour Responsibilities Act as a resource for Employee and Labor Relations , partnering with employees, leaders, and the HR team. Conduct workplace and Employee Relations investigations, including fact-finding, documentation, interviews, recommendations, and appropriate follow-through. Support leadership with employee complaints, concerns, grievances, professional conduct matters, and other Employee Relations issues. Advise on performance improvement plans , corrective action, disciplinary matters, and terminations. Coach and counsel leaders on Employee Relations matters to promote consistent application of HR policies and practices. Support labor or union relations, including interpretation of collective bargaining agreements and assistance with grievance processes. Partner closely with the HR Principal Business Partner and other HR team members on Employee and Labor Relations matters. Review, interpret, and assist with updating HR policies, procedures, programs, and related communications. Interpret applicable policies, procedures, and federal and state employment laws to guide appropriate application. Coordinate with Legal and Compliance to determine appropriate handling of employment-related matters. Lead and support performance management discussions to promote consistency across the organization. Document investigation findings and fact-finding activities, provide recommendations to leadership, and ensure appropriate closure of Employee Relations matters. Assist leadership with workforce actions including reorganizations, layoffs, or other workforce changes as needed. Help develop and implement Employee and Labor Relations strategies. Support other HR programs, initiatives, and responsibilities as needed. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Experience: 5+ years of Employee/Labor Relations experience in a Labor Relations, HR Generalist, HR Manager, HR Business Partner, or comparable HR capacity. Strong experience handling employee relations matters and workplace investigations. Experience supporting leaders with employee concerns, performance management, corrective action, and related employee relations matters. Experience reviewing, interpreting, and updating HR policies and procedures. HR certification (such as PHR or SPHR) is preferred but not required. Experience working with HRIS and HR-related systems. Current systems include Great Plains and RADAR . Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel , Word , and PowerPoint .
