Job Description Senior Cost Estimator (Civil) – Aviation. Location: Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. Senior Cost Estimator will develop, review, and manage cost estimates for multidisciplinary aviation projects, including airside and landside elements such as terminals, runways, taxiways, parking, utilities, and support facilities. Job Summary This role requires expertise in conceptual, schematic, and detailed estimating; proficiency with estimating systems and industry standards; and the ability to lead and mentor junior staff. Key Responsibilities Prepare and oversee cost estimates across all project phases—from conceptual to final design—ensuring accuracy and alignment with project objectives. Analyze drawings, specifications, and documentation to produce comprehensive estimates. Evaluate contractor and vendor proposals for completeness, accuracy, and compliance. Develop quantity takeoffs and cost models using recognized estimating software and tools. Participate in risk assessments, cost control, and value engineering studies to deliver cost‑effective solutions. Support project managers and design teams with budget tracking, cost trending, and forecasting throughout project execution. Provide input on project schedules, constructability, and phasing that impact cost. Prepare cost reports and presentations for clients, leadership, and stakeholders. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior estimators. Support proposal and business development efforts, including scope definition and cost benchmarking. Minimum Requirements BA/BS degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, including 2 years of leadership. Preferred Qualifications 15–20 years of cost estimating experience, ideally supporting large‑scale aviation, transportation, or infrastructure projects. Certification in estimating or project controls (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator (CPE), AACE Certified Cost Professional (CCP), or PMP). Experience with major airport authorities or aviation clients (FAA, DFW Airport, Love Field, etc.). Prior experience within a multidisciplinary engineering or program management environment. Familiarity with Primavera P6, Oracle Unifier, or similar cost/schedule management systems. Proven experience preparing estimates for multiple project delivery methods (Design‑Bid‑Build, CMAR, Design‑Build, etc.). Strong proficiency in cost estimating tools such as Sage/Timberline, RSMeans, On‑Screen Takeoff, or equivalent. Knowledge of current construction practices, materials, and regional cost trends. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Additional Information May require passing airport‑specific background checks and obtaining badges or clearances. Relocation support may be available for qualified candidates.
