Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Plumbing Superintendent to lead commercial plumbing projects from preconstruction through closeout. The Plumbing Superintendent will manage field operations, coordinate trades, enforce safety and quality standards, and ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget. The ideal candidate combines strong technical plumbing knowledge with proven leadership in manpower allocation, installation oversight, and effective site communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations for commercial plumbing projects, ensuring work is performed to contract, code, and project specifications.
• Plan and allocate manpower, equipment, and materials to meet project schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, and other trades to sequence work and resolve interface issues.
• Manage installation of piping systems, fixtures, and accessories for domestic water, waste/vent, storm, and specialty systems.
• Perform and verify field takeoffs, review submittals, and ensure correct material staging and deliveries.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce OSHA and company safety policies, leading toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Monitor quality control, troubleshoot field installation issues, and implement corrective actions to meet project standards.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, RFI logs, change orders, and as-built documentation.
• Train, mentor, and supervise foremen, lead hands, and plumbing crews to develop skills and productivity.
• Collaborate with project management and estimating teams during preconstruction and change-management activities.
• Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes, permitting requirements, and inspection processes.
• Review schedule updates and provide proactive recommendations to mitigate delays and control costs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years of commercial plumbing experience with at least 3 years in a superintendent or similar field management role.
• Journeyman plumber license or equivalent trade certification preferred; master plumber or GA/State license a plus.
• Strong knowledge of commercial piping systems (water, waste, storm, medical gas, and specialty systems) and installation best practices.
• Proven ability to perform field takeoffs, read and interpret construction drawings, and review submittals.
• Demonstrated experience in manpower allocation, crew supervision, and productivity management on multiple concurrent projects.
• Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and a track record of maintaining safe, compliant job sites (OSHA 10 or 30 preferred).
• Excellent trade coordination and communication skills with GC, owners, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Proficient in construction scheduling and reporting tools; comfort with mobile field technology and basic office software.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach to delivering quality work on schedule.
• Willingness to travel to job sites and work in a hands-on environment as project needs dictate.
