Registered Nurse – Operating Room

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Registered Nurse (RN) to join our plastic surgery practice.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on operating room experience and a strong understanding of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, patient safety, and perioperative care.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures

• Prepare the operating room, supplies, medications, and equipment

• Assist the surgeon and surgical team during procedures

• Maintain strict sterile technique and infection-control standards

• Perform or oversee the cleaning, decontamination, packaging, sterilization, and proper storage of surgical instruments

• Monitor patients and accurately document all required clinical information

• Complete surgical counts and follow established patient-safety protocols

• Assist with wound closure, including suturing, when properly trained, deemed competent, and permitted under applicable law, physician direction, and practice policy

• Provide postoperative care and patient education.

• Maintain required logs and help ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards

• Support the surgical schedule and work collaboratively with surgeons and clinical staff

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Florida Registered Nurse license

• Previous operating room or surgical nursing experience required

• Plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, or ambulatory surgery experience strongly preferred

• Experience with instrument processing and sterilization preferred

• Wound-closure or suturing experience preferred

• Current BLS certification; ACLS certification preferred

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and infection prevention

• Excellent clinical judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail

• Dependable, professional, and able to function effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
