Associate Director - Machine Learning Sciences

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks an Associate Director to lead the Machine Learning Sciences team within Computational Sciences. This role involves setting scientific strategy for ML-driven ADMET/PK prediction and molecular design, managing a team of scientists, and driving adoption of emerging methodologies across the research portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of machine learning scientists focused on ADMET/PK prediction and multiparameter design
• Set scientific strategy and priorities aligned with Computational Sciences and Research goals
• Partner cross-functionally with computational scientists, medicinal chemists, and biologists to embed ML predictions into workflows
• Drive model improvement through validation, benchmarking, and iteration against experimental data
• Evaluate emerging ML methodologies and technologies from external sources for adoption and integration

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Bachelor's with 12+ years, Master's with 10+, or PhD with 8+) in Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Demonstrated experience applying machine learning to chemistry or drug discovery problems such as ADMET/PK prediction
• Track record of leading teams or projects to measurable scientific impact
• Strong cross-disciplinary collaboration and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Direct people management experience supervising scientific staff
• Familiarity with multiparameter optimization in small molecule design
• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or drug discovery R&D environment
