Rigger Helper (RAL AIS NW)

Job Summary Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks Rigging Helper for a project in Durham, NC. Hired candidates will be considered for benefits and paid time off after 3 months. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist with the positioning of chain falls, hoists, blocks, rope, jacks, chains and rigging as directed by the Rigger Select cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves, according to weight and size of load to be moved Work with attaching rigging to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms with bolts and clamps Inspect work sites to determine presence of obstructions Give verbal and hand signals as assigned Plan sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers Secure material and rigging equipment for transport Perform housekeeping of areas and packing materials Lift and carry objects of varying weights Detect, recognize and respond to dangerous conditions or situations Qualifications Skilled in both written and verbal communication Complete all safety and general job training as required by SIC Observe SIC and customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times Physical Demands Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds Work in office, shop, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped properties, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions Must access all areas of property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops and other elevated positions, as well as confined spaces Strenuous physical demands required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position Must safely operate all involved equipment and tools Must be capable of standing for long periods, bending consistently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, in workboats, and working in awkward body positions Equal Opportunity Employer / Veterans / Disabled / Affimitive Action Policy Equal Opportunity Employer.
