Each tier reflects increasing responsibility, leadership, and experience within commercial AV installation environments.Position SummaryCommercial AV Installation Technicians are responsible for the installation, termination, testing, and support of audio/visual systems in commercial environments. Technicians work as part of a field team to ensure systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project documentation and quality standards.Technician (Entry-Level)Experience Band: 0–2 years of commercial AV, low-voltage, or related technical experiencePerform installation of AV equipment including displays, speakers, racks, and peripheralsPull, terminate, and label low-voltage cabling (audio, video, control, network)Assist with rack builds and equipment mountingFollow drawings, scopes of work, and direction from Lead Technicians or ForemenMaintain clean and organized job sitesAdhere to safety standards and company policiesSupport testing and basic troubleshooting under supervisionLead Technician (Mid-Level)Experience Band: 3–6 years of commercial AV installation experienceLead daily installation activities for assigned areas or systemsInterpret drawings, signal flow diagrams, and scopes of workCoordinate work tasks for Technicians to meet schedule requirementsPerform advanced troubleshooting and system verificationOversee rack fabrication, cable management, and equipment labelingCommunicate progress, issues, and material needs to the Foreman or Field Project ManagerEnsure installation quality meets company and industry standardsMentor and train junior techniciansCTS certification preferredForeman (Senior / Field Leadership)Experience Band: 7+ years of commercial AV installation experience, including leadership rolesManage day-to-day field operations for assigned projects or project phasesSupervise Lead Technicians and Technicians onsiteCoordinate labor activities to meet project schedules and milestonesEnsure materials, tools, and documentation are available onsiteEnforce safety practices and quality control standardsAct as the primary onsite point of contact for field coordinationReport daily progress, labor utilization, and issues to the Field Project ManagerSupport commissioning activities and system turnoverCTS or CTS-I certification strongly preferredWork EnvironmentThis position requires work on active construction sites and may involve extended periods of standing, lifting, ladder use, and coordination with other trades.
