Med/Surg Nursing Role With Renal Focus

Step into a Med/Surg nursing role with a special focus on renal care in an adult and geriatric patient population. This contract opportunity offers valuable experience in a dynamic healthcare setting, with exposure to a wide range of cases from hemodialysis catheters to hypertension emergencies.

Schedule/Hours:

• Day shift, 3x12-hour (07:00 - 19:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Expectation to work major holidays based on assignment period
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off permitted during contract

Qualifications:

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (first-time travelers welcome)
• BLS certification required
• Experience with Med/Surg patients; focus on renal care preferred
• Proficiency with Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
• Comfortable working with adult to geriatric patients

Responsibilities:

• Manage patient care with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio in a 20-room unit
• Specialize in hemodialysis catheter management, manual and cycler peritoneal dialysis, sepsis protocols, tele monitoring, ETOH withdrawal, UTI, CKD, and hypertension emergencies
• Float to similar units as needed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate consistently using SBAR
• Ensure accurate and timely electronic documentation

• Assignment contingent on full compliance prior to start date (bi-weekly orientations)
