Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified OB Surgical Technologist for a Labor & Delivery and General OR position requiring 5 years of experience and BLS, CST, NBSTSA, or NCCT certification.

Details

• Work in General OR and Labor & Delivery settings performing OB and gynecologic surgical procedures
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Procedures include C-sections, vaginal deliveries, abdominal and vaginal hysterectomies, tubal ligations, D&C, cervical cerclage, and laparoscopic gynecological procedures
• Utilizes electrosurgical units and follows sterile processing and instrument decontamination protocols
• Epic EMR experience required
• May be required to float between sister facilities

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
• BLS certification required
• CST certification through NBSTSA or NCCT required
• Compact state license must be in hand at time of submission; license required if applicable
• Strong skills in aseptic technique, sterilization/disinfection, specimen handling, and universal protocol time-out procedures
• Experience with sharps safety, wound care/dressing changes, and emergency and fire safety protocols

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include supporting OB and gynecological surgical procedures from setup through closure
• Maintain sterile fields and ensure proper instrument processing and sterilization standards
• Participate in specimen labeling and handling in accordance with facility protocols
• First-time travelers considered on a case-by-case basis with manager screening
• Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff at any Providence facility must be separated for a minimum of 3 months before qualifying for this travel position
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
