Pay Grade: Hourly Period of Employment: 10 Month FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Supervised by and/or Reports to: Director of Food Service

General Responsibilities: Responsible for assisting in the organization, preparation, cooking, and serving of food to students and adults of Colonial Beach Public Schools.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assists with the preparation and serving of food in accordance with established recipes and governmental and nutritional guidelines
• Assists manager in maintaining standards of work, sanitation, and safety ensuring that food items are properly stored, cooked, shipped, and served in a safe, sanitary, and timely manner
• Participates in a variety of food service operations and functions as needed, including serving food, selling food, and cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Requisite Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with principals, school staff and administrators
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential tasks
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations at the level necessary for satisfactory job performance
• Ability to lift and move packages up to 60lbs
• Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication
• Demonstrated ability to relate effectively to students, teachers, staff, central office personnel, and community members
• Understanding of and ability to maintain rapport with persons from diverse, cultural, ethnic, and racial groups

CPR/AED Training

ServSafe Certificate - Possession and/or eligible

Physical Requirements: Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to: a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions. Some heavy work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects may be required.
