Career Services Advisor, Senior USC Marshall School of Business – Undergraduate Career Services Office Overview The Marshall Undergraduate Career Services team seeks an experienced career services professional to serve as Associate Director, supporting approximately 8,200 students. The role focuses on one‑on‑one and group advising, career workshops, and program development, reporting to the Senior Associate Director. Responsibilities and Duties Advise students regarding career exploration strategies, internship search methods, resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, and other career related matters; develop action plans. Determine career advising needs of individuals and groups. Plan and conduct student career workshops and seminars covering topics such as career exploration, resume building, recruitment preparation, interview techniques, and job search. Assist in scheduling workshops, track and monitor attendance and workshop evaluations. Develop curriculum and content for assigned topics to support recruitment efforts. Assist in scheduling advising and walk‑in sessions, track usage, and work to minimize wait times. Plan, execute, and support programming and initiatives such as large‑scale recruiting events, internship programs, employer panels, industry treks, and alumni mixers. Serve as champion for target student groups (e.g., international, transfer, first‑generation) and develop appropriate programming. Gather data on student engagement with programs and events and manage assessments to determine effectiveness. Daily use of the career management software system Handshake. Keep abreast of recruitment trends, industry developments, and maintain an active professional network. Serve as subject matter expert for one to two online career resources and promote student adaptation. Promote an inclusive environment and uphold USC Code of Ethics principles. Lead 1‑2 large‑scale department projects such as the mentorship program, the Career Advantage Program, Success Suits You, First‑Year Career Launch, and the Marshall Internship Program. Other Duties Engage with Marshall student organizations regarding career programming and employer contacts. Attend professional meetings to stay current on career and employment trends. Collaborate with Academic Advising staff on programming and events. Liaise with other USC career centers. Other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications MBA or master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Career Counseling, or related discipline. Five or more years of full‑time relevant experience. Experience working in a corporate environment. Minimum Requirements Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree. Minimum Experience: 1 year. Minimum Field of Expertise: Related education and experience in counseling and career services and advisement. Compensation The salary range for this position is $76,442.59 – $87,619.33 – $100,145.99. Compensation considers scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, equity, and market factors.
