Charge Nurse – Dialysis

Shift: Days, 05:30–22:30 (12-hour shift); 3x12s (scheduling dependent on department needs); Schedule request: M–F 05:30–22:30; rotating Saturdays; occasional Sundays

Contract Length: 9 weeks; Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

Requirements:

• NY state nursing license required
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Outpatient/chronic dialysis experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• EPIC charting experience required

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Manage a four-patient POD and oversee up to 21 stations as the charge nurse
• Administer and monitor outpatient/chronic dialysis care
• Perform cannulation of AV fistula/graft and care for tunneled/non-tunneled catheters
• Manage dialysis-related complications, including hypotension and hyperkalemia
• Administer blood and blood products as needed
• Set up and operate dialysis machines

Compliance / Notes:

• Candidates must have a NY license in hand to submit
• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Cannot submit candidates with more than 10 days of RTO
• Return staff policy: 1 year
• COVID-19 vaccine: Not required
