Monitor Technician/Telemetry Technician

Telemetry TechnicianObserves electrocardiogram (ECG) monitor and closed-circuit television (CCTV) and alert nurses and physicians to changes in the patient's heart rate rhythm and the occurrence of arrhythmias.Required qualifications:High School Graduate or GEDPrior experience as Telemetry TechnicianBasic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)Ability to operate cardiac monitors and EKG machinesAbility to recognize myocardial infarction arrhythmiaAbility to recognize normal and abnormal arrhythmiasPreferred qualifications:Completion of Medical Assistant programSuccessful completion of Rhythm Recognition CourseSkills:Ability to communicate effectively, and follow written and/or oral instructionsStrong quality customer service skillsExcellent interpersonal communication skills
