Job Description

The Registered or Certified Polysomnographic Technologist, Night Shift, supports the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders by performing overnight sleep testing, monitoring patients throughout the night, providing patient education, and supporting therapy services. This position primarily works overnight shifts in a sleep laboratory and collaborates with physicians, providers, DME partners, and clinical staff to support high quality patient care and continuity of treatment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct overnight sleep studies in accordance with clinical protocols, physician orders, and assigned responsibilities.
• Prepare patients for overnight testing by applying sensors, electrodes, and monitoring equipment.
• Continuously monitor patients and sleep study data throughout the night, making appropriate technical adjustments as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment, identify technical or clinical concerns, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Document observations, testing results, interventions, and other required clinical information accurately and timely.
• Educate patients regarding sleep testing procedures, PAP therapy, treatment expectations, and the importance of therapy adherence.
• Provide PAP education, mask fitting, equipment instruction, and follow-up support as assigned.
• Complete required training and maintain competency in assigned duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current RPSGT or CPSGT credential required.
• CPSGT employees must work within credential, competency, Company policy, and applicable supervision requirements.
• Previous sleep laboratory experience required.
• Knowledge of sleep testing, PAP therapy, and patient education.
• Strong clinical judgment, documentation skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently within assigned responsibilities.
  

Physical and Schedule Requirements

• This is primarily an overnight position requiring regular night shift availability, including evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, or rotating schedules as business needs require.
• Ability to remain alert, attentive, and responsive throughout overnight shifts.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, position patients, and safely handle sleep testing equipment.
• Ability to lift and move equipment and assist patients as necessary within assigned responsibilities.
