Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions: Responds to all internal and external customers, as it relates to the position, in a prompt, efficient, friendly, and patient manner Sets up student health records and emergency cards Reviews all student records for any health needs Orders and maintains school health and first aid supplies Organizes and helps with all screening programs for vision, hearing, scoliosis, lice checks, and immunizations Prepares re-screen lists Records and updates individual student records on screenings, immunizations, etc. Administers daily prescription and over-the-counter medications to students in accordance with school board policy under the supervision of the school administrator and maintains accurate records of medication given Maintains daily log of all students seen in the health office Completes accident reports clearly and concisely for all accidents Supervises enrollment of students with regard to proper immunization history Screens all new students for vision, hearing, and immunization history Administers first aid as needed Duplicates and distributes educational and instructional materials on health Provides hygiene-related demonstrations and services in the classroom as needed Notifies principal in any and all emergencies Notifies principal of any situation that might be considered child abuse or neglect Compiles periodic and year-end reports for state and district Maintains knowledge of and adheres to all policies, regulations, and rules Performs related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner Other Duties This job description is not a comprehensive listing of duties, responsibilities, or activities that are required of the employee for this job.
