Repair Shop Assistant

Air-Cert, LLC is seeking a motivated, entry-level Repair Shop Assistant to support our repair technicians in an FAA Part 145 Repair Shop. In this role, you'll use your mechanical aptitude to support mechanics with hands-on tasks such as replacing air hoses, testing equipment, and changing fluids, while maintaining clean, organized tools, work areas, shop floors, and test stands. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in aviation maintenance and build a foundation for growth within the industry. The role is based indoors in a climate-controlled workspace and the work schedule will be Monday - Friday, 7am 4pm.

Compensation:

• The salary range for the Repair Shop Assistant position is $19.00-$22.00/hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean and organize tools and work areas
• Keep the shop floor clean and free of debris
• Provide general support to mechanics as needed
• Replace air hoses as directed
• Clean and maintain test stands

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Additional Responsibilities:

• May perform special projects and other duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in aviation maintenance or mechanical shops is a plus
• Proven mechanical aptitude.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Must be authorized to work in the US and able to provide documentation as required by law
• Ability to read, speak and write in English.
• Highly dependable and reliable with a strong work ethic.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems.
• Must successfully pass mandatory FAA Drug testing.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

This position works onsite in the Company's Repair Shop.

• Work is primarily performed in a repair shop environment with moderate noise levels.
• Regularly communicate in verbal and written form and able to hear.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Frequently utilize hand and finger dexterity.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 40 pounds.
• Able to frequently reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
