Position Overview

Department Details

Department: Family Medicine

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM, based on departmental requirements. Enjoy your weekends and holidays free from work obligations!

Preferred Experience: Outpatient clinical experience is advantageous. Experience in phone triage is a plus but not mandatory.

Role Summary

The role involves delivering direct nursing care in alignment with the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and oversee patient care plans, ensuring accurate monitoring, recording, and communication of patient conditions.
• Act as the primary coordinator among various disciplines to ensure seamless patient care.
• Execute physician and nursing orders effectively.
• Assess and manage patient discharge planning in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• May accompany physicians during rounds in inpatient settings.
• Utilize evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge to inform nursing care, tailored to the specific age and clinical needs of patients as outlined in the department’s Scope of Service.
• As a nurse, uphold the professional nursing standards as defined in our practice model, guided by the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
• Maintain a vigilant and safe working environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation

Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing school or possess an equivalent educational background for licensing.

Experience

No prior experience is necessary.

Physical Demands

• Regular verbal communication is essential for sharing information.
• Frequent standing and walking are required.
• Regular lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Frequent sitting, reaching, and data entry tasks.
• Vision and depth perception are frequently needed for tasks both near and far, including color differentiation.
• Regular use of smell for odor detection and hearing for communication and safety alerts.
• Occasional lifting of objects weighing between 25-50 lbs and moving patients.
• Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, and other physical movements.
• Occasional driving may be required.
• Rarely involves crawling or running.

Licensure and Certifications

Must hold the following certifications based on the state of work location:

• Illinois: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA) and Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
• Missouri: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA) and Registered Nurse (RN) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration or Compact State RN.
• Oklahoma: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA) and Registered Nurse (RN) - Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN) or Compact State RN.
• Wisconsin: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA) and Registered Nurse (RN) - Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services or Compact State RN.
