Director, Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

Neurocrine Biosciences seeks a Director of Strategic Sourcing & Category Management to lead sourcing initiatives, develop category strategies, and manage a team responsible for optimizing cost, supplier performance, and supply chain continuity across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the sourcing team with accountability for performance, capability, priorities and business results
• Develop and execute multi-year sourcing and category strategies aligned with company objectives and market conditions
• Establish negotiation and commercial strategies for complex sourcing engagements using RFPs, RFIs, and competitive bidding
• Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to shape sourcing approaches and influence business strategy
• Identify, prioritize and implement cost savings, process improvements and value creation initiatives across the organization

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related field with 12+ years of sourcing/procurement experience
• Master's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or MBA with 10+ years of related experience
• Demonstrated people management and team leadership experience
• Expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, competitive bidding, and negotiation strategy
• Strong analytical and financial acumen with ability to interpret spend data and develop business cases
• APICS, CPSM, or Lean certifications preferred
• Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences preferred
