Job: Registered Nurse – Orthopedics

Location: Burlington, NC
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift | 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Start Date: 06/08/2026

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care for orthopedic, medical-surgical, and telemetry patients in a fast-paced acute care setting.
• Care for patients recovering from total joint replacements, fracture repairs, kyphoplasties, neck/back surgeries, and other orthopedic procedures.
• Monitor patients on telemetry and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications, blood products, IV therapies, and manage PCA pumps.
• Perform wound care, wound vac management, central line care, PICC line management, and phlebotomy procedures.
• Assist with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen therapy, and tracheostomy management.
• Provide care for patients with feeding tubes, colostomies/ileostomies, renal failure, and continuous bladder irrigation.
• Collaborate with physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Float to other units as needed based on staffing requirements.
• Perform Charge RN responsibilities as needed during assigned shifts.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation using EPIC charting system.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Active RN License required.
• Minimum 2 years of Orthopedic/Med-Surg nursing experience required.
• Previous travel nursing experience required.
• Charge RN experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation.
• Experience with orthopedic trauma and total joint replacement patients preferred.
• Proficiency in EPIC charting system required.
• Ability to manage patient ratios of 1:5–6 in a high-acuity environment.
• Must be comfortable floating to other units and working every other weekend.
• Successful completion of mandatory EKG exam required prior to start.
