The Rocket Motor Systems team is designing and commissioning automated equipment for high rate production of Solid Rocket Motors at our plant in McHenry, MS. In this role, you will help to ensure automation equipment is designed, validated, and operated to the highest safety standards.WHAT YOU’LL DOLead machine safety efforts for manufacturing & process equipment at Anduril’s Solid Rocket Motor production facility in McHenry, MSBe the safety expert during design, commissioning, and validation of automated / semi-automated production equipmentDetermine the relevant safety standards, conduct hazard analysis / risk assessments, and perform safety buyoff for equipment including conveyance, robotics, process equipment, and lifting systemsArchitect safety systems including E-Stops, scanners, light curtains, door interlocks, and other relevant hardwareInvestigate and provide corrective actions for equipment safety failures or workplace injuriesEnsure regulatory compliance for production equipmentREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Robotics/Controls, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar3+ years of machine safety experience in a production environmentMust have completed one of the following certifications: Functional Safety [TUV Rheinland] for Machinery Engineer, Functional Safety Engineer [TUV SUD], or Certified Machinery Safety Expert (CMSE) [TUV NORD]Deep knowledge in selection, integration, and validation of safety hardwareFamiliar with CAD packages including NX, Solidworks, or AutoCADMust be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilitiesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS5+ years of machine safety experience in a production environmentExperience with control panel layout, electrical component selection, and cable routingExperience interfacing with regulatory agencies and safety committeesExperience with energetic or other highly hazardous production processesUS Salary Range$126,000—$167,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
