Kennedy Jenks is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to join our expanding team in Seattle Metropolitan area. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing our current major infrastructure projects with solid construction schedules from 3 to 7 years long. The Senior Construction Manager is responsible for managing KJ field scope of services and sets standards for monitoring construction cost, schedule, quality, and KJ staff's safety.

As a Construction Manager, you'll lead construction execution, coordinate project stakeholders, mentor field teams, and support successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects.
- Lead project execution: Serve as the day-to-day leader on major infrastructure construction projects, fostering daily interactions with clients, designers, owners, contractors, inspectors, and relevant authorities while guiding quality work across approved plans, specifications, schedule, budget, and safety.
- Coordinate and build relationships: Act as the primary point of coordination for subconsultants. Cultivate a strong relationship with the client, including regular communication regarding construction and contract-related matters.
- Guide field teams: Actively engage in mentoring and facilitating the growth of employees by reviewing their work products for quality assurance.
- Manage construction administration: Direct the field services, including review of Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, Field Memorandum, Clarifications, Request for Quotes (RFQs), Change Orders (COs), Work Directive Changes (WDCs), monthly progress payments and recommendations prepared by others, Contractor prepared construction schedules, and documentation control performed by the field staff.
- Lead project communications: Monitor development and distribute timely meeting agendas and minutes. Conduct regular meetings with field office staff to address and resolve project-related matters, and prepare and review meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and correspondence. Prepare and distribute owner-required project reports.
- Oversee project administration: Maintain a current copy of the agreement with the client and all change orders. Review and approval of employee timesheets, project status reports, monthly billing draft statements, aging reports, and more.
- Facilitate communication: Facilitate the fair yet firm resolution of all project issues and take responsibility for safety monitoring and mentoring of team members issues.
- Represent project work: Attend and, when necessary, represent the owner at public meetings.

What You Bring
- Communication and collaboration: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate in a timely and detailed manner to various project parties, including designers, owners, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction.
- Construction knowledge: Working knowledge of technical requirements of construction, current project delivery methodologies, and building codes. Familiarity with materials, means, methods, tools, and contractual obligations involved in the construction or repair of various physical assets, including water and wastewater and process equipment installations.
- Problem-solving and execution: Ability to resolve issues, manage competing priorities, and deliver accurate and relevant results in complex construction settings.
- Software systems: Microsoft Office proficiency; Experience with project management software such as Procore, SharePoint, or Unifier is a plus.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 10-20 years of experience managing complex construction projects from concept to close out, in the water, wastewater, and stormwater industry.
- Certifications and licenses: Professional Engineer (PE) license required; CCM or PMP certification is a plus.
This position requires full-time on-site and off-site presence, Monday through Friday. Must be able to work in a construction environment with limited amenities. KJ will assist you with relocation costs.
Salary range for this position is anticipated to be $160,000 to $190,000, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications and geographic location.
