Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) - Critical Care ICU | Baltimore

MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Critical Care and ICU team as a full-time Nocturnist in Baltimore, Maryland.

This is an exceptional opportunity to practice at the top of your license in a high-acuity ICU environment while working alongside experienced intensivists, Advanced Practice Providers, and multidisciplinary care teams. The nocturnist APP serves as a key clinical leader overnight, managing critically ill patients, leading Rapid Response and Code Blue activations, and performing advanced bedside procedures.

Clinical Responsibilities

* Manage critically ill ICU patients in collaboration with intensivists and multidisciplinary teams
* Lead Rapid Response and Code Blue activations throughout the hospital
* Evaluate unstable patients and facilitate escalation of care to the ICU
* Perform comprehensive assessments and develop evidence-based treatment plans
* Perform advanced bedside procedures including:

• Central venous catheter placement

• Non-tunneled dialysis catheter placement

• Arterial line placement

• Chest tube insertion

• Thoracentesis
  * Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, care transitions, and quality initiatives

Qualifications

* Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program
* NCCPA certification (PA-C) or AGACNP certification required
* Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
* One year of Critical Care, ICU, Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, or inpatient experience preferred
* Advanced procedural experience preferred
* New graduates with strong critical care training and interest are encouraged to apply
