Staff Software Engineer, AI-Native Systems

Role Description
We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer, AI-Native Systems (Tech Lead) who will set technical direction for agentic systems and lead the work to ship them. You will:
- Own the technical direction for a significant AI-native domain.
- Act as tech lead for a squad or cross-team initiative.
- Write and review design docs; make and document architectural calls.
- Establish clear technical ownership.
- Design and build production AI agents.
- Set standards for "production-ready agent".
- Build and extend abstraction layers for AI capabilities.
- Own full-stack delivery in TypeScript/Node.js and Python.
- Partner with product, operations, and business leaders.
- Own the evaluation strategy for your domain.
- Mentor and grow engineers through various methods.
Qualifications
- 8+ years building and operating production software.
- Track record of technical leadership as an individual contributor.
- Hands-on experience designing and deploying agentic systems.
- Ability to drive loosely defined problems to shipped workflows.
- Experience using AI development tools judiciously.
- Strong cloud-native engineering fundamentals.
- Fluency with relational data and SQL.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward measurable results.
Requirements
- Experience with agent frameworks and multi-agent architectures.
- Model evaluation and guardrail infrastructure experience.
- Experience building platform capabilities for other teams.
- Background in workflow automation or forecasting-driven products.
- Prior work in a regulated environment.
- Experience mentoring engineers or acting as a tech lead.
