AutoCAD Specialist - Civil Design

Job Summary AECOM is seeking an experienced AutoCAD Specialist in Charlotte, NC, Greenville, SC, Columbia, SC, or Charleston, SC. As a CAD Specialist with growing technical expertise and experience in demanding design‑driven projects, you will work with interdisciplinary teams on Advanced Manufacturing & Logistics Projects in a programmatic approach. You will have the flexibility to work in a hybrid model, from an AECOM office, remote location, or client site, in a dynamic environment that values integrity, entrepreneurial spirit, and pioneering mindset. Responsibilities Perform routine and non‑routine drafting assignments, scale and edit assignments using AutoCAD and other graphics software to meet set results and deadlines. Draft and design infrastructure projects (ports, civil, rail). Draft and design for projects involving civil, buildings, earthworks, utilities, stormwater, rail and/or roadways. Digitize or trace sketches or concepts from designers using AutoCAD. Assist with creating and modifying 3D models, renderings and/or animations for promotion and proposals. Perform complex assignments using multiple application platforms, including Revit, to achieve set results and deadlines. Own moderately difficult design tasks with minimal supervision. Coordinate with other technicians and related disciplines to produce design deliverables. Lead development of drawing packages for coherent functional sets of plans. Prepare design submissions and other technical documents. Ensure design drawings are compliant with data requirements. Assist senior engineers and designers as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. 2 years of civil CAD experience. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D. Experience taking engineering specifications and inputting them into engineering drawings. Experience with infrastructure projects, utility profiles, and cross‑sections. Experience assembling, managing, and manipulating large site surface models. Preferred Qualifications Experience with civil site projects on master planning, conceptual design drawings, construction drawings, and engineering detail drawings. Experience with Revit. Desire to be mentored by leadership and to mentor junior staff. Detail‑oriented and technical, yet able to see the big picture. Strong attention to detail and accuracy with an innate desire for follow‑through. Ability to work independently and with large groups of technical people with minimal oversight. Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team‑oriented environment. Additional Information Relocation assistance is not available.
