Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a healthcare or medical office setting preferred. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation. Proficiency in using office software and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Strong organizational and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Certification as a Unit Secretary or Medical Secretary. Experience working in a hospital or clinical environment. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting. Flexibility to work both day and night shifts on a per diem basis. Responsibilities Answer and direct incoming phone calls promptly and professionally to appropriate personnel or departments. Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with healthcare regulations. Coordinate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers by communicating with nursing staff and other departments. Prepare and distribute daily schedules, reports, and correspondence to support clinical operations. Assist in the preparation of medical charts and documentation required for patient care and billing. Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers to facilitate clear communication. Support the unit staff by performing various clerical duties such as filing, faxing, and data entry.
