Demolition Crew Laborer

Job Description Job Description Position Overview The Boutz Demolition Crew Member is responsible for performing physical demolition tasks on residential, commercial, and industrial job sites. This role supports safe and efficient teardown, debris removal, equipment operation, and site preparation while adhering to OSHA standards, company policies, and project‐specific requirements. Key Responsibilities Site Preparation & Demolition Tasks • Perform manual and mechanical demolition of structures, walls, flooring, roofing, and other building components. • Assist in setting up barricades, signage, and protective barriers. • Execute selective demolition with precision to avoid damage to protected areas. • Load, sort, and remove debris according to company and environmental guidelines. Safety & Compliance • Follow all OSHA, state, and company safety procedures. • Wear required PPE at all times (hard hat, gloves, eye protection, respirator, etc.). • Participate in daily toolbox talks and hazard assessments. • Report unsafe conditions, near misses, or incidents immediately. Equipment Operation • Operate hand tools (sledgehammers, saws, grinders, pry bars). • Operate small equipment as trained (skid steer, mini‐excavator, breakers). • Conduct pre‐use inspections and report equipment issues. Worksite Conduct • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‐free work area. • Follow instructions from the Foreman, Superintendent, or Project Manager. • Work collaboratively with crew members to complete tasks efficiently. • Uphold professional behavior with clients, subcontractors, and the public. Qualifications Required • Ability to perform physically demanding labor (lifting 50–75 lbs, bending, climbing, standing for long periods). • Basic understanding of construction or demolition tasks. • Reliable transportation to job sites. • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and environments. Preferred • Prior demolition or construction experience. • OSHA 10 • Experience with small equipment or power tools. • Knowledge of debris sorting, recycling, and environmental compliance.
