Senior Accountant – Columbia, TN

We’re recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join a well-established organization in Columbia, TN . This is a full-time, in-office position reporting directly to the Director of Accounting and offers an excellent opportunity for a mid-level accounting professional who wants to continue developing and potentially grow into a leadership role over time.

Key Responsibilities

\n
• Maintain and balance the general ledger, including review and analysis of GL accounts and accounting entries
\n
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and prepayment schedules
\n
• Manage cash operations, bank reconciliations, deposits, and bank transfers
\n
• Oversee cash management related to capital projects
\n
• Balance account sub-ledgers and manage interfund and joint-expense transactions
\n
• Prepare specialized financial and regulatory reports
\n
• Assist with annual audits and required reporting
\n
• Support preparation of annual financial reports
\n
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, long-range financial planning, and financial analysis
\n

Compensation & Benefits

\n
• Target salary of $85,000–$95,000
\n

• Employer-paid Life/AD&D insurance equal to 400% of annual compensation plus $15,000 , subject to plan maximums

• Typically a 40-hour workweek , with additional hours only occasionally during busier periods

Qualifications

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
\n
• Minimum of 6 years of accounting experience
\n
• Strong general ledger, journal entry, reconciliation, cash management, and financial reporting experience
\n
• Experience supporting audits and preparing financial reports
\n
• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create charts, tables, and trend analyses
\n
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook
\n
• Experience with accounting software and ability to learn new systems CPWS - Senior Accountant
\n
