About the Position

Job Title: OR Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 7A-3P, 7A-5P, 7A-7P Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: Experience in a Level 1 trauma center, Scrubbing and/or circulating experience in Neuro, Ortho, and Trauma cases. Description: ASAP starts only. Must end by June 1st. Manager will conduct interviews; no pre-screening required. Housing leads are available upon request. Candidates should explore the housing market upon submission. Travel experience is preferred. Weekend rotation and call will be determined at the discretion of the manager. Travelers will work 12-hour shifts on weekends in rotation with other staff. They may also be asked to work 8-hour shifts during the week in rotation. The unit has 23 operating suites and an average of 75 cases per day. Required certifications include BLS. Common cases include trauma, ortho, neuro, cardiac, and exploratory laparotomy. Scrubbing is not required but considered a bonus. A charge nurse is present on all shifts. Self-scheduling is allowed within reason, but block scheduling is not guaranteed. Call requirements are 3-4 shifts per 4-week period on weeknights and 1 shift per 4-week period on weekends. Call response time is 45 minutes. No floating is required. Scrub color and dress code are hospital issued. All travelers are required to take the same amount of call as permanent staff. A call center will be assigned, and travelers will be notified of their designated call center. Call will begin at the end of shifts ending at 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM. For shifts that extend beyond 5:30 PM, another call person will need to cover the additional hours. Cancellation policy is not applicable. The charting system used is EPIC. A BSN is not required for submission. An active RN license is required. This position is in an acute care setting.
