Job Title

Respiratory Therapist – Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Charlottesville, VA | Acute Care (Children's Hospital)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (26 Weeks) | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | Expected 36–48 hours/week | Every other weekend, every other holiday; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services within a children's hospital setting, including care across specialized units such as NICU and Cardiac PICU
• Deliver patient care during night shift hours in a fast-paced, high-acuity pediatric environment
• Float within scope of practice to other units as needed per facility policy
• Participate in self-scheduling model in coordination with unit leadership to meet staffing needs
• Complete specialty-specific orientation modules as required by the facility
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Active Virginia Respiratory Therapy license required; pending license accepted provided a temporary license can be obtained before start date — a current license in another state is required to be eligible for a temporary Virginia license
• Minimum Level 4 NICU experience required
• Epic experience required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cardiac PICU experience preferred
• Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification preferred
