Job Summary:
The healthcare facility in ROCK SPRINGS, Wyoming is seeking a qualified Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse to join their team. This position involves providing specialized care for patients recovering from anesthesia following surgery across various specialties. The role requires adaptability to float to adjacent departments while ensuring high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with one night call shift and one weekend shift per month.
• Required Qualifications: Wyoming Registered Nurse (RN) license, ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), PALS (American Heart Association); at least 1 year of experience in critical care or Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EMR charting systems, vitals signs machines (space lab), Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, and Pyxis medication systems.
• Additional Information:
  • Local candidates are not accepted; a 50-mile radius restriction applies.
  • The unit has 5 beds, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 depending on patient acuity.
  • Orientation will include about three days of one-on-one training with another PACU nurse, followed by supervised independent work.
  • Floating to Same-day Surgery, Pre-Anesthesia Testing, or ICU may be required during low census.
  • The facility emphasizes adherence to OSHA and hospital-specific protocols, with scrubs provided for surgery staff.
  • The unit operates within a trauma care setting at an acute care division.
