Senior Civil Engineer

A leading engineering consulting organization is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to support a growing Environmental Services practice. This role will lead civil engineering and construction planning efforts supporting transmission line repair, reconstruction, and utility infrastructure projects.

The position combines technical leadership, project execution, client engagement, construction planning, and team development responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be a hands‑on engineering leader capable of managing projects from planning through construction closeout while serving as a technical resource and mentor for engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering project teams and provide technical guidance throughout project execution.
• Perform technical reviews and quality oversight of engineering deliverables.
• Apply civil engineering and construction principles, practices, codes, and procedures to project work.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on permitting, land use planning, and stakeholder coordination.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and resource forecasting.
• Participate in construction planning activities and support project execution strategies.
• Review production drawings and bid packages to ensure compliance with project and client requirements.
• Conduct constructability reviews and support engineering quality initiatives.
• Monitor project progress, budget performance, risks, schedules, and key project milestones.
• Facilitate communication among project teams, stakeholders, contractors, and clients.
• Support recruiting, mentoring, development, and training of engineering staff.
• Participate in leadership activities that support growth of the civil engineering practice.
• Assist with additional project and engineering initiatives as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Minimum 7 years of Civil Engineering experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience leading engineering and construction projects from planning through closeout.
• Experience reviewing engineering designs, technical documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering design principles and construction practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, leadership, facilitation, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to meet company driving requirements.
