Communicable Disease Specialist – Richmond County Health Department Location: Augusta, GA. 3 positions available. No relocation assistance. Applicants must be within a reasonable commuting distance. Job Overview As a Communicable Disease Specialist within the Richmond County Health Department, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals who support the mission to protect lives of Georgia residents. You will serve under the STD prevention program as a disease specialist, conducting timely disease intervention to control and prevent infectious diseases, providing health education to patients, partners, clinicians and community members, counseling patients and coordinating testing and surveillance input into regional databases. Key Responsibilities Conduct timely disease intervention functions to control and prevent infectious diseases. Provide health education to patients, their partners, clinicians and other community members. Counsel patients and perform investigations to gather information. Coordinate testing and manage surveillance input into regional databases. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in science, public health, or related field from an accredited institution, or four years of outreach experience. Preferred: Experience working in public health, medical, disease investigation, or community-based organization. Benefits Competitive salary.
