Client Industry: Pharmaceutical Job Mode: Onsite Contract Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension Based on Performance and Business Needs) Job Summary: Seeking a Scientist to support formulation and manufacturing process development for sterile liquid pharmaceutical products including solutions, emulsions, and suspensions. The role will focus on laboratory experimentation, analytical characterization, process optimization, data analysis, and technical documentation. The ideal candidate will independently plan and execute laboratory studies while generating accurate and reliable data. This position requires strong scientific problem solving, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills within a regulated environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory experiments supporting the development of sterile liquid pharmaceutical products.
- Plan and independently execute laboratory scale experiments related to formulation and manufacturing process development.
- Conduct analytical and characterization experiments to generate scientifically sound data.
- Perform measurements including pH, osmolality, viscosity, rheology, turbidity, particle size, and physical appearance.
- Perform HPLC and UPLC analysis using appropriate analytical detection techniques.
- Analyze and interpret technical data and apply statistical techniques as needed.
- Document experiments, results, conclusions, and technical findings accurately in electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Troubleshoot experimental and process challenges using creative scientific problem solving.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation to support laboratory operations.
- Present experimental data, findings, and future steps during project and group meetings.
- Perform all work in compliance with applicable regulatory, safety, quality, and internal requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or a related scientific discipline with 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or a related scientific discipline with at least 2 years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience with formulation and manufacturing process development for sterile liquid pharmaceutical products.
- Experience with analytical characterization techniques including pH, viscosity, rheology, turbidity, particle size, and physical appearance.
- Hands on experience with HPLC and UPLC.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Experience analyzing data and preparing technical reports.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, and statistical software.
- Experience with sterile filtration and autoclaving for liquid pharmaceutical products.
- Experience with solutions, emulsions, and suspensions.
- Experience with HPLC and UPLC detectors including UV, PDA, and RI.
- Knowledge of fundamental statistical applications.
- Experience with electronic laboratory notebooks and regulated laboratory environments.
