Senior Estimator

The Senior Estimator leads large, complex, and mission-critical estimating efforts while serving as a subject‑matter expert in systems, pricing strategy, and risk management. This role plays a key part in aligning project pursuits with company profitability goals and long‑term business strategy, while also supporting team development and cross‑functional collaboration. What You Will be Doing: Lead estimating efforts for large-scale, high-risk, and complex projects Develop conceptual estimates and budgets with limited design information Establish labor strategies, productivity assumptions, and risk mitigation plans Analyze drawings, specifications, and scope documents to identify requirements and risks Review and approve estimates prepared by other estimators Identify risks, assumptions, and cost‑saving opportunities within estimates Coordinate and negotiate vendor and subcontractor pricing Collaborate with operations, project managers, and leadership throughout project pursuits Represent the estimating team in planning discussions, customer meetings, and negotiations Incorporate historical cost data and productivity analysis into estimates Track project budgets and compare estimated vs. actual costs for continuous improvement Maintain organized estimate documentation and backup files Support awarded projects, including change orders and credits Mentor and support development across the estimating team Ensure compliance with company standards, policies, and core values Key Experience to Hit the Ground Running: 10+ years of complex estimating experience, preferably in electrical commercial construction Strong knowledge of electrical construction systems and industry practices Advanced proficiency in Accubid and estimating techniques Advanced understanding of NEC requirements Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet bid deadlines Strong analytical, forecasting, and problem‑solving skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and logical problem‑solving abilities What Would Really Make You Shine: Demonstrated leadership and mentorship experience within an estimating team Experience leading high‑value, complex, or mission‑critical project pursuits Strong negotiation and influencing skills with customers and vendors Experience partnering closely with operations and executive leadership Proven ability to improve estimating processes, standards, and outcomes Strategic mindset with a focus on long‑term planning and business impact Commitment to the company's core values of Exceptional Work Ethic, Always Doing the Right Thing, Customer Service Driven, and Treating Our People Like Family What Would Earn You Continued Career Growth and Development: Consistently delivering profitable, competitive, and high-quality bids Becoming a trusted technical and pricing authority within the organization Strengthening estimating standards, tools, and processes company-wide Developing and mentoring other estimators and contributing to team growth Building strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders Continuously improving accuracy through post‑project analysis and lessons learned Fostering teamwork to make the dream work! This position does require in‑office attendance daily. The schedule is Monday‑Friday, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm.
