About the Department

Join a fast-paced Neurology team where every shift brings an opportunity to learn and make a difference.

Our Neurology service includes two 20-bed units caring for acute neurological, neurosurgical, stroke, and trauma patients. With a 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio and stroke, trauma, and neurosurgery teams available on the unit, nurses are supported in delivering timely, evidence-based care to patients with complex needs.

Role Overview

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care. Utilizing the nursing process, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients and their families. Your role is vital in ensuring effective communication within the healthcare team and finding solutions to meet patient goals.

What You Will Do

• Provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching for patients and their families.
• Communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
• Participate in finding and implementing solutions for variances from patient goals.

SCHEDULE:  (3) - 12 Hour Shifts, 7am - 730pm, every other weekend and rotating holidays.

What You Will Need

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel. 

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIRED:

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Health care provider certification (BCLS).
