Title Adjunct Instructor - Computer Information Technology (Pool) Institution Volunteer State Community College Job Summary This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction using integrative technologies. Job Duties Teach courses via on ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced modalities as assigned. Teach evening, weekend, off-campus, dualenrollment and distance-based courses as required. Submit class syllabus or update department syllabus at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of class or within seven days of the execution of contract. Regularly check VSCC email and the departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the Registrar. Complete required college trainings. Complete all required reports such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions and administer and return surveys by the required deadlines. Advise the Department Chair at the earliest possibility if you are unable to teach a class. Attend meetings as requested by the Department Chair and/or Dean. Comply with all of the College's and TBR's policies and guidelines. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in a computer information technology-related discipline from an accredited institution. OR Associate's degree or higher from an accredited institution and demonstrated competencies in computer information technology. Computer information technology-related disciplines include but are not limited to programs/majors such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Decision Science, Information Science, Information Management, Information Systems and Technology Management. Demonstrated competencies can be documented through one or more IT-related certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Cisco CCNA and/or at least two years of relevant work experience. Preferred Qualifications Required qualifications plus IT-related industry certifications. Collegiate level teaching experience. Master's degree in a qualifying field from an accredited institution; OR a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in a qualifying field from an accredited institution. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Pay Rate $675 - $800 per credit hour Availability/Closing Date This posting is not a guarantee of an open position.
