Registered Nurse I(New Grad) - 9C Short Stay

Job Summary Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal‑directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health‑care team to achieve desired results. Minimum Training and Education Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013, with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date (refer to policy A141). A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse is required. Licensure and Certifications Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an AHA‑recognized equivalent, or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Physical and Mental Requirements Ability to stand, sit, walk continuously; climb stairs; work indoors and outdoors in temperature extremes; work from elevated areas; work in confined/cramped spaces; perform kneeling positions; bend at the waist; twist at the waist; squat; perform pinching operations; use gross and fine motor activities with fingers and hands; reach overhead; perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders; fully use both legs and lower extremities for balance and coordination; reach in all directions; lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted; lift/lower objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 in. unassisted; lift from 36 in. to overhead 25 lbs.; exert up to 50 lbs. of force; maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes; see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance; match or discriminate between colors; determine distance/relationship between objects; have depth perception and good peripheral vision; maintain hearing acuity, with correction; perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements; deal effectively with stressful situations; work rotating shifts; work overtime as required; work in a latex‑safe environment; maintain tactile sensory functions; (Selected Positions) maintain good olfactory sensory function; (Selected Positions) be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required.
