Provides specialized speech-language pathology services in an inpatient rehabilitation setting, supporting patient recovery and communication needs. Manages a tailored caseload while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes. Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients' communication and swallowing abilities to develop individualized therapy plans.
- Administer evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve speech, language, cognition, and swallowing functions.
- Document patient progress and adjust treatment strategies accordingly within clinical and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and optimize recovery.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using electronic health records, ensuring compliance with facility policies.
- Adhere to all licensing, certification, and safety protocols, including NMES and MBS procedures.
- Hold a current SC state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Possess a minimum of 2-3 years of inpatient rehab experience, preferably in an IRF setting.
- Certified by ASHA with a Clinical Competence Credential (CCC).
- Demonstrate proficiency in NMES (Vital Stim) and MBS procedures.
- Maintain BLS certification and radiation badge as required.
- Have excellent communication and interdisciplinary team collaboration skills.
