Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN General)

Administers nursing care within the scope of practice under the direction of registered nurses or licensed physicians. Performs various nursing duties including administering medications and monitoring patient conditions. Records and maintains medication accountability. Observes, documents, and reports on patient conditions including reactions to medications and overall progress. Provides direct patient care including assistance with daily living activities and personal hygiene. Participates in interdisciplinary meetings and staff training programs. Cleans and organizes medical supplies and equipment. Orders necessary medical supplies. Provides guidance and training to lower-level staff in delivering basic nursing care. Maintains a clean and organized work environment. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing procedures, pharmacology, and agency regulations. Utilizes medical equipment and maintains proper infection control practices. Exhibits effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients and colleagues. Able to recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations. Capable of understanding and following varied manuals and instructions associated with practical nursing. Demonstrates dexterity in administering injections and performing medical treatments. Strength to move and reposition patients as needed.
