Location Webster, TX Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule/Shift This position requires working from 09:00 to 21:30. Job Description The PACU unit at HCA Clear Lake Main Tower provides post-anesthesia care for surgical patients. The unit features 14 beds and operates with a team of 16 staff members. Patients in this unit typically undergo a range of surgical procedures including endoscopies, hernia repairs, myomectomies, hysterectomies, nephrectomies, joint repairs/replacements, lumbar fusions, and other general surgeries. The nursing staff is expected to maintain a high standard of care in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and surgery. Administer medications and intravenous fluids as per protocol. Conduct initial assessments and provide ongoing evaluations of patient status. Communicate effectively with surgical teams and other healthcare staff. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system (Meditech). Required Experience Must possess an active RN license. ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications are required. Previous experience in a PACU or similar surgical environment is preferred. Certifications/Licensure Registered Nurse (RN) license required. ACLS certification required. BLS certification required. PALS certification preferred.
