As an HIV Retention Coordinator within the Specialty Care Clinic at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways. Job Responsibilities
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of experience performing work related to area of assignment;
OR Six (6) years of experience performing work related to area of assignment;
OR Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
Note: Some positions may require licensure.

As an HIV Retention Coordinator within the Specialty Care Clinic at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways. Job Responsibilities
- Implement linkage-to-care protocols for newly diagnosed individuals, including enrollment into the Ryan White program.
- Assist with scheduling client intake, reactivation and completion of enrollment into various Patient Assistance Programs that support HIV treatment and care.
- Use team and data-driven approaches to retain clients in HIV medical care.
- Identity and resolve barriers to care, such as transportation and medication assistance.
- Develop and/or utilize tools to identify and re-engage clients that have fallen out of care.
- Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including health departments, medical providers, correctional facilities, and organizations that provide housing and other support services.
- Conduct community outreach and provider education to enhance HIV awareness and perinatal coordination.
- Establish new partnerships based on the needs identified within the Ryan White Program.
- Serve as a District Perinatal Coordinator and ensure proper testing and treatment is provided to pregnant individuals with HIV/AIDS and their infants.
- Actively contribute and/or lead workgroups, planning coalitions focused on HIV care, and other quality assurance/quality improvement projects.
- Support partner services, targeted testing, outreach and education to minority communities.
- Assist medical providers and case managers with referrals for services that support HIV outcomes.
- Complete data entry and reporting activities as required by local, state, and federal agencies.
