Senior Project Manager (Mission Critical)Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead mission-critical construction projects from planning through successful turnover. The role focuses on delivering high-availability facilitiessuch as data centers and other mission-critical infrastructureon time, on budget, and to strict quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate combines advanced project and construction management skills with deep experience in mission-critical systems, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to drive teams across multi-disciplinary environments.Key ResponsibilitiesYou must be located in Raleigh NC, or Durham NC, or willing to relocate there. Lead end-to-end project delivery for mission-critical construction projects, including planning, design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover.Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and change-control processes to ensure projects are delivered within scope, on schedule, and under budget.Coordinate engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure integration of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems required for high-availability facilities.Implement robust risk management and mitigation strategies specific to mission-critical environments, including contingency planning and redundancy validation.Manage contracts and subcontractors, including scope definition, negotiation, performance monitoring, and enforcement of quality and safety standards.Serve as primary client and stakeholder point of contact; prepare and present regular status reports, executive summaries, and technical updates to senior leadership and clients.Establish and enforce quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes, inspection plans, and testing protocols aligned with mission-critical requirements.Oversee commissioning and start-up activities, ensuring systems meet performance specifications and reliability targets prior to handover.Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned, optimizing construction methodologies, and applying best practices for mission-critical projects.Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, permits, and site-specific safety programs; promote a strong safety culture on site.QualificationsBachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field; advanced degree preferred.8+ years of progressive construction and project management experience, with a minimum of 5 years managing mission-critical construction projects (e.g., data centers, colocation facilities, high-availability infrastructure).Proven expertise in Project Management and Construction Management methodologies, including schedule and cost management, risk management, and change control.Demonstrated experience delivering mission-critical construction projects and familiarity with systems critical to uptime (power distribution, UPS, generators, HVAC, fire suppression, controls).Strong contract and vendor management skills with experience administering large subcontract packages and negotiating commercial terms.Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with a history of working effectively with owners, design teams, contractors, and operations.Experience with commissioning and handover processes for mission-critical facilities.Proficiency with project controls tools (scheduling software, cost management systems) and Microsoft Office suite.Required skills: Project Management, Construction Management, Mission-Critical Construction.Nice-to-have: Data Center Construction experience, Ground-up Construction experience, willingness to travel for project oversight and client meetings.BenefitsVacation/PTOMedicalDentalVision401kBonus
