Bankruptcy & Commercial Restructuring Associate AttorneyOur client is seeking a Bankruptcy & Commercial Restructuring Associate with 3–5 years of experience in bankruptcy, loan workouts, commercial restructuring, or related commercial litigation to join our growing Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice Group in Houston.This is an outstanding opportunity to work alongside a highly regarded, multi-office team representing financial institutions, lenders, creditors, and businesses in sophisticated restructuring, insolvency, and commercial litigation matters. Associates receive meaningful responsibility, significant client interaction, and hands-on experience from the outset while collaborating with experienced practitioners across the firm's national platform.ResponsibilitiesRepresent lenders, secured and unsecured creditors, and business clients in bankruptcy, restructuring, and insolvency matters.Handle commercial loan workouts, restructurings, default resolutions, collections, and related litigation.Draft and negotiate workout agreements, forbearance agreements, restructuring documents, and other transaction-related materials.Represent clients in federal and state court proceedings, including bankruptcy court litigation.Analyze complex financial and commercial issues to develop practical legal strategies for clients.Collaborate with attorneys across multiple offices on sophisticated restructuring and insolvency matters.Maintain regular client communication while managing multiple matters efficiently and effectively.QualificationsJuris Doctor from an accredited law school with a strong academic record.3–5 years of experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, loan workouts, commercial litigation, or a related practice area.Experience representing lenders, creditors, financial institutions, or commercial borrowers is preferred.Knowledge of CMBS transactions (including special servicing), commercial lending, real estate, maritime, or energy law is a plus.Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, organizational, and advocacy skills.Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced practice.Demonstrated sound judgment, professionalism, and commitment to client service.Active license to practice law in Texas is required.
