MammographerBy joining the mammography team, you will perform examinations to help detect and diagnose breast disease, including breast cancer. You will have the opportunity to educate patients on procedures, properly position patients to obtain accurate images, and follow established imaging and radiation safety protocols. Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, you will help with early detection and diagnosis.Why choose UH Mammography as a career choice?Competitive hourly rateAdditional $2 per hour for Cleveland Medical Center onlyEnhanced PTO for candidates with 5+ years of relevant work experienceSign-on bonus ($10,000 for full-time or $5,000 for part-time)Loan repayment may be available for new grad talent onlyTuition reimbursement after six monthsCareer ladder progressionFree parkingWhat you will do:Performs mammography testing and procedures for patients.Performs quality mammograms following prescribed techniques, with minimal radiation exposure to patients and self.Knowledge of MQSA, required QC procedures, and required patient outcomes tracking.Able to perform all applicable equipment quality control.Accurately records all requested database/log records.Assists radiologists as needed.Consistently follows hospital and department policies and protocols.Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws (HIPAA) and facility policies.Takes responsibility for self-development and supports learning environment.Provides age-specific care to neonates through geriatrics.Consistently follows hospital and department guidelines for patient identification and safety.Adheres to ALARA, Image Gently and Image Wisely standards.Adheres to hospital mammography safety standards.Effectively follows directions to maintain compliance with State and Federal Agencies.Effectively follows directions to maintain department readiness based on DNV standards.Displays a commitment to Hospital Mission and Values.Maintains licensure and continuing education requirements.Must demonstrate the ability to work independently.Proficient at instructing students and new staff members after 1 year experience.Uses administrative skills to contribute to the successful operation of the department by entering and completing correct billing codes in the RIS and on patient billing sheets.Performs other duties as assigned.Complies with all policies and standards.Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.Qualifications:Education Qualifications:Other Accredited Program: Completion of an accredited 2-year program in a school of Radiologic Technology (Required)Experience Qualifications:1+ years Registered X-ray technologist with at least one year experience preferred (Preferred)1+ years Registered Mammography technologist with less than two years of experience (Required)1+ years Proficient at instructing students and new staff after one year experience (Required)Less than 1-year Clear knowledge of modality specific equipment computers, pacs, EMR and RIS (Required)Less than 1 year Must demonstrate ability to work independently (Required)Less than 1 year Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise (Required)Less than 1 year Clear knowledge of imaging and exam protocols (Required)Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of X-Ray unit, computers, wheelchairs, O2 tanks, immobilization devices, PACS and radiology information system.
