Job Description Job Description Remote Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician Location: Remote (U.S.) Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday Training: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM CT Production: 10:00 AM–7:30 PM CT Pay Rate: $20.00/hour (W2) Type: Contract (long-term) About the role We’re hiring Remote Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technicians to support a high-volume prior authorization environment. In this role, you’ll handle inbound requests and provide professional, courteous support while ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with required guidelines. Responsibilities Handle inbound calls from providers, pharmacies, and members related to prior authorization requests Accurately document reviews and maintain timely, complete records Escalate clinical questions and judgment calls to the pharmacist team Support additional work as needed, including outbound calls, fax/ePA processing, and monitoring shared mailboxes Communicate clearly with internal teams regarding determination status and next steps Maintain strict confidentiality of PHI and follow all applicable privacy standards Required qualifications Verifiable High School Diploma or GED Strong communication and phone skills (professional, courteous demeanor) Ability to multitask across multiple systems and applications at once Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word/Excel; other Office tools a plus) Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation habits Willingness to work mandatory overtime/extended work week as needed Preferred qualifications Prior experience in a call center, healthcare, pharmacy, PBM, or customer service setting Pharmacy technician license or national certification (preferred, not required) Remote/work-from-home requirements Ability to work independently in a private workspace Hardwired internet that meets minimum requirements (speed test proof may be requested) Interested?
