About the Position

License: Valid state nursing license is required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. Must-Have: Must have strong cardiac experience. Must have strong respiratory skills. Must have experience with stroke management. Must have experience with sepsis, DKA, and post-operative complications. Must have pre-post cardiac catheterization experience. Must be proficient in EPIC charting. Must have strong neuro assessment skills. Must have skills in managing multi-system organ failure. Must have experience with management of dysrhythmias. Must have central line and arterial line placement skills. Must be able to manage cardiac drips. Must have experience in care of ventilated patients. Description: This position requires a registered nurse to work in the ICU. The nurse will work three 12-hour night shifts per week. The average daily census in the unit is 20 patients. The nurse may be required to work 3-4 weekend shifts per month. Occasional floating to medical-surgical or telemetry units is expected. The nurse will handle adult ICU patients, covering various ICU illnesses and conditions. No trauma or bone marrow transplant cases will be managed within this unit. Strong skills in code management and defibrillation are necessary. Proficient neuro stroke assessment skills are essential. This position includes specific procedures such as central line placement, arterial line placement, and intubation. Experience with managing various cardiac drips and sedation is required. Infection prevention and isolation precaution skills are necessary. Documentation will be performed using the EPIC charting system. The nurse must demonstrate the ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage patients with chronic and acute renal failure. Care for ventilated patients and suctioning will be a part of the daily responsibilities. Candidates with 3 or more years of ICU experience and CCRN certification are preferred. Experience with CRRT, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery management is also preferred. This role requires flexibility with scheduling and adherence to unit policies.
