We are currently looking for a Board-Certified, highly skilled orthopedic surgeon to become a vital part of our outstanding team at the Phoenix VA Health Care System (PVAHCS) located in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona.

Your Responsibilities:

As an integral member of our team, you will carry out a variety of orthopedic surgical procedures, which include:

  • Basic fracture stabilization
  • Soft tissue repair
  • Arthroscopy
  • Arthroplasty (currently focusing on primary and revision total hip and knee replacements)

Note: An adult joint reconstruction fellowship is highly preferred and will be given additional consideration.

Compensation and Benefits: Salary:

Attractive salary package, including an annual performance bonus and regular salary increments.

Paid Time Off:

Enjoy 50-55 days of paid time off annually, which includes 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, and a potential 5-day paid absence for Continuing Medical Education (CME).

Retirement:

Benefit from a traditional federal pension (with a 5-year vesting period) and a federal 401k plan with contributions of up to 5% from the organization.

Insurance:

Access to federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance (many federal insurance options can be maintained into retirement).

CME:

Eligible for reimbursement of up to $1,000 per year for continuing medical education.

Education Debt Reduction Program:

Potential for up to $200,000 in student loan repayment.

Malpractice:

Enjoy free liability coverage with tail coverage included.

Contract:

No Physician Employment Contract and minimal restrictions on moonlighting.

Employment Requirements:
  • Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent qualification from an accredited medical or osteopathic institution.
  • Possession of one full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory, with a commitment to maintaining an active and unrestricted license.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required (non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA Policy).
