Job Description

This role involves blending, packaging, and distributing drilling fluid chemical products used across the oil and gas industry. You will work with both dry blend and liquid products, handling materials that range from small packaged quantities to bulk industrial volumes. Many products are derived from recycled byproducts such as corn cobs, walnut shells, and other drilling additives used in drilling operations. The position is highly physical, requires consistent heavy lifting, and takes place in a hot, dusty, industrial manufacturing environment. Must be able to wear PPE, including Respirator Mask and steel toe boots.

Responsibilities

• Blend, package, and distribute drilling fluid chemical products according to established production procedures and quality standards.
• Work with both dry blend and liquid products, ensuring accurate measurements and proper handling of all materials.
• Handle and move bulk materials, including products derived from corn cobs, walnut shells, and other drilling additives.
• Lift and move 2555 lb bags repeatedly throughout the shift, sometimes performing hundreds or even thousands of lifts per day based on production needs.
• Operate and monitor packaging equipment and heavy industrial machines to support production and bulk material handling.
• Perform continuous standing, repetitive physical labor, and material handling tasks in a non-climate-controlled production environment.
• Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of respirators and required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in a dusty and dirty production setting.
• Support industrial production workflows, including staging materials, loading and unloading products, and preparing finished goods for distribution.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets and respond to changing production demands.
• Use sit-down forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed, if trained and authorized.
• Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety guidelines related to chemical manufacturing and bulk material handling.

Essential Skills

• Ability to perform repetitive heavy lifting of 2555 lb bags throughout an entire shift, potentially hundreds or thousands of times per day.
• Comfort working in a hot, dusty, dirty, and non-climate-controlled industrial manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to work in physically demanding conditions.
• Experience with general labor in heavy industrial settings such as construction, manufacturing, foundries, warehouses, oilfield services, or chemical production.
• Familiarity with industrial production processes, heavy industrial machines, and packaging equipment.
• Experience with bulk material handling in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to wear respirators and all required PPE for extended periods as needed.
• Stable work history with demonstrated tenure in previous roles.
• Ability to work safely around drilling fluid chemical products and bulk materials such as corn cobs and walnut shells.
• No peanut allergies due to exposure risks in the production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Sit-down forklift experience preferred but not required.
• Previous work experience in foundries, chemical plants, construction, oilfield services, or heavy manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
• Experience working in non-climate-controlled facilities.
• Comfort operating or learning to operate packaging equipment and heavy industrial machinery.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and follow-through in a fast-paced production setting.

Work Environment

This position is based in an industrial manufacturing facility that produces drilling fluid chemical products for the oil and gas industry. The standard schedule is 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The production environment is non-climate-controlled, with extreme heat during the summer months and consistently dusty and dirty conditions. Team members work around bulk materials including corn cobs, walnut shells, and drilling fluid additives, and perform continuous standing, repetitive physical labor, and heavy material handling throughout their shifts. The facility uses heavy industrial machines, packaging equipment, and bulk material handling systems, and may utilize sit-down forklifts for moving materials. Personal protective equipment is mandatory and includes steel-toe boots, hard hats, long pants, sleeved shirts, and respirators in designated areas. The overall environment is fast-paced, physically demanding, and safety-focused, suited to individuals who are comfortable in heavy industrial and chemical manufacturing settings.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
